As a result of the oversight of not integrating food production programmes with food preservation storage programmes, many farmers watch helplessly as microbes rot away their farm produce, therefore repeating the vicious cycle of time of plenty and time of scarcity of food. This lecture is the sojourn to the land of microbes, the Microbial world to inquire how their activities that cause food spoilage could be minimized or stopped.
